Spring is here, time for a new kind of scene and new things to do around school, in your neighborhood and even around Houston. Check out the top 25 things to do in March.
1. Celebrate National Pancake Day, 10th Anniversary on March 3 at your nearest IHOP as you will get a free short stack of pancakes for the day.
2. Sign up for AP exam. Registration ends on March 4 and closes at noon.
3. Student vs. staff volleyball game will be on Wednesday, March 4, take place in the performance gym at 3:15. Entry fee will be $2.00 per person.
4. Reminder to seniors to pay dues before graduation. Last day to pay will be March 6 all day at the finance office. You can make payments with cash or money order.
5. Daylight savings time begins March 8 make sure to spring forward your clocks. Summer is closer than you think.
6. International Women’s Day March 8 celebrates women’s ideologies all around the world.
7. Watch the new anticipated Cinderella movie premiering on March 13 starting the legendary Helena Bonham Carter playing the role of The Fairy Godmother and new uprising stars like Lily James as Cinderella.
8. SAT testing will take place on March 14 at your designated reserved testing school.
9. Celebrate Pi day on March 14 and take note that it is once in lifetime Pi day because it’ll be on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53 because the first ten digits of pi are 3.141592653. Keep in mind that this will not happen for another 100 years. Help yourself to some pie and enjoy the nerdiness the day has to offer.
10. Get your brackets ready for the 2015 Men’s NCAA March Madness Tournament starting soon after March 15. The teams will officially be announced throughout April 6.
11. Wear your “Kiss me I’m Irish” shirts or wear green or get pinched on St. Patrick Day on March 17.
12. Spring officially begins March 20. Have some fun in the sun and go to the pool or beach. Enjoy the many rides Kemah boardwalk or Pleasure Pier have to offer. Shop till you drop at the mall spring sales.

13. Check out the new blockbuster movie Insurgent premiering on March 20. This will be the second movie in the highly anticipated trilogy. This movie is promised to have adventure and leave you at the edge of your seat.
14. Make sure to buy Girl Scout cookies throughout the month of March as they will be on sale. Each box of cookies will cost $4.00
15. Out with the old in with new, take time to spring clean throughout the month of March.
16. Get ready, set, bid. Senior Auction will take place on March 25 at 2:45 in the teaching theater.
17. Light a candle for Earth hours on March 28 at 8:30 to 9:30 for more information go to www.earthhour.org.
18. Go to the Houston Rodeo March 2-22, which will be held at the Reliant Stadium. You can purchase tickets online to watch big name country artists like Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. Pop performances will include John Legend and Ariana Grande, just to name a few. Other performances will include bands such as Fall Out Boy and Zac Brown Band. You can also enjoy the Rodeos carnival which will take place in the parking lot of the Reliant stadium. You can purchase carnival ride tickets at the booths in the carnival.
19. Buy your 2014-2015 yearbook in room 1866 or go to www.smart-pay.com. All year book sales will be final on March 31.
20. Start signing up for scholarships. It’s never too late to earn some free money to go to college. For more information make sure to check out counselor’s corner at lunch.
21. Support your Ram athletes by attending baseball, softball, track, and soccer games throughout the month of March.
22. Enjoy daily activities at the Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston. Such activities include their signature events such as ORBITA by National Danish Performance Team presented by Hempel and Maersk on March 1 free to the public, kayaking and paddle boarding on lake Kinder will beginning on March 14-15, kayaking will be $5 per person and paddle boarding will be $10 per person. Other activities will include group workouts opened to the public like zumba and yoga starting on March 2. 23. Get your costumes ready for the Matsuri convention on April 3-5 at the George R. Brown Convention center.
