Snap chat has been making a lot of changes, including their recent mass update on Feb 22, 2018. This update has changed the way the stories are placed, the way they are viewed, and the way people interact with the stories.
Not everyone is excited about this update, including celebrities like Kylie Jenner who posted a snap about not wanting to use the app anymore. This cost the apps parent company $1.3 billion in market value according to Time.com. Teens like junior Arlette Velasco are not enthused about the update either.
“No, I hate the new Snapchat update because it’s too confusing. Everything is everywhere, like the celebrity stories being mixed with the Snapchat stories. I think they should separate them because what if some people don’t wanna watch the Snapchat stories?” Velasco said.
This Snapchat update has been unsuccessful because it has been getting a lot of complaints about its dramatic change compared to the new layout.
“I don’t like the new update I feel like its complicated and all the stuff is unnecessary,” junior, Anahi Rodriguez said.
Junior Nancy Jacobo is also confused with the new upgrade.
“No I don’t like the new Snapchat update because I can’t see people stories, and also it’s hard to use – just too confusing for me,” Jacobo said.
Although people find the new Snapchat upgrade as complicated, some approve of a few changes that the app has added.
“I only like some of the new filters because they make me look cute in the pictures or videos that I take,” Velasco said.
“There was new improvement made on the new filters, filters be making me look cute,” Jacobo said.
Even though the filters make up somewhat for the people struggling to use the new snap upgrade, many have voiced online that they want old Snapchat version back.
“I would prefer the old Snapchat back just because we’ve had that version for the longest and everyone had gotten used to it,” Rodriguez said.
Many people are not impressed with the new update, which might even cause a snap user to stop using the app if it isn’t fixed.
“I really don’t like the new Snapchat that at times I don’t want to use the app, I feel like they should change it to the way it used to be”, Velasco said.
