Rampage Editor in Chief advances to state UIL competition

Journalism student Circe Marez, 12, will compete at the state level for headline writing at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic competition on May 24th in Austin, Texas.

Senior Circe Marez has served as editor in chief of The Rampage Newspaper for the past two years. This is her third and final year in the journalism program.

Marez earned a third place ranking at the regional meet on April 30th at Cypress Wood high school which qualifies her for the state meet. Marez also competed in editorial writing last Saturday.

At the district level competition on April 2 at Cy-Fair high school, Marez placed 3rd in the editorial writing, 4th in feature writing, 4th in headline writing. She also competed in the pilot test for copy editing.
