Texans Pink Out Game
October 8, 2015
The Houston Texans are known for their fans in the NFL. The only thing more crowd pleasing than a regular game is the Texan’s Pink Out game. With a packed arena and a game against our division rivals, the Indianapolis Colts, the audience was in for an exciting game on October 8th, at the NRG stadium.
The game began with a thrilling opening that introduced the most famous player of the Texans, including Jadeveon Clowney, Brian Cushing, and the one and only, J.J. Watt. The players running onto the field was jaw dropping with the Texan cheerleaders supporting the team, and fire erupting from the side entrances. Even world famous NBA star Dwight Howard made an appearance at the game for his home team. After all of the excitement and the big entrance, the game finally began.

It was a fierce battle against the Colts with many victories for both teams. During the first two quarters of the game, the Colts managed to score two touchdowns gaining a lead against the Texans. With a cheering crowd the Texans were able to get on the score board and spread a little hope to the vigorous fans sitting on the edge of their seats. Scoring a field goal in the first quarter and a touchdown in the second, it was Texans 10 and Colts 14 by half time.
The half time performance was one to remember since it was a tribute to breast cancer survivors. The Texan Cheerleaders were decked out in pink shorts, pink boots, and of course pink poms. Apparently it was also the night for celebrities to come watch a Texan Game. OMI, singer of the radio hit “Cheerleader” also made a guest appearance and gave a small performance with the cheerleaders. Well not just the cheerleaders. Since it was a tribute to breast cancer survivors, actual women who have struggled through and won their fight against breast cancer got the once in a lifetime chance to perform side by side the Texan cheerleaders.
After the heart-warming half time performance it was back to the game. Many struggles were faced, and many accomplishments were made, but sadly the game was not in the Texan’s favor. The Texans managed to score yet another touchdown and a field goal in the third quarter, but nothing in the fourth. The Colts were able to score a total of four touchdowns, winning them the game. After all the cheering and hard work out on the field, the Texans lost, making the final score 20 to 27 against the Colts, and their overall score at 1-4, making them third in the AFC Southern division.

Even though the game wasn’t another win for the Texans, they had a lot of mini games and entertaining attractions for the audience to be a part of. Throughout the game many fans were appeared on the big screen located above the center of the field for all sorts of reason. The Kiss Cam was an adorable attraction that got couples on the big screen, as well as the Jump Cam getting the audience on their feet. The Flex game gave all of the guys a chance to show off their muscles and once again getting them on the big screen. Another game played on the actual turf was the Fuddruckers’s Build-a-Burger challenge. People dressed up in burger costumes and had to run across the field, trying to build a giant stuffed burger.
Overall The Texan Game was an exciting event that got interaction with the audience and gave memories they will not soon forget. From camera games with the audience to the actual football game on the field, the Texan games are some of the most entertaining events to happen in Houston.
With two major celebrities making a guest appearance and having a great cause to celebrate, this Texan game was surely one to remember.
